Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and actor Anil Kapoor relived the 'Taal' moment on the August 4 episode of Indian Idol 10, the music reality show on Sony Entertainment Television.
The two Bollywood actors had starred in the Subhash Ghai film Taal in 1999, in which Aishwarya Rai was paired opposite Akshaye Khanna while Anil Kapoor played her other suitor. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor appeared on Indian Idol 10 to promote their film Fanney Khan. So, what was the Taal moment?
Indian Idol 10 contestant Renu Nagar, a wonderful singer from Alwar, Rajasthan, sang 'Ni main samaj gayi' from Taal. That was enough to get Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor dancing on stage! In Taal, Anil Kapoor is a music producer who makes the career of the village girl singer played by Aishwarya Rai. In their latest movie together, Fanney Khan, Anil Kapoor plays the title role of a singer who couldn't make it but wants his daughter (Pihu Sand) to be a star. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays a diva in Fanney Khan, much like she is in real life. Fanney Khan the man kidnaps Aishwarya but then wants her to help him out with his child's singing career.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also danced with and hugged a contestant who sang 'Humko humise chura lo' from the Aishwarya and Shah Rukh Khan film Mohabbatein.

Sony Entertainment Television's Indian Idol 10 auditions began on July 7, 2018. The show's Grand Premiere with the Top 14 contestants was aired on July 28 and 29, 2018.
Indian Idol 10 is judged by Bollywood music director Anu Malik, singer-composer Vishal Dadlani and singer Neha Kakkar and is hosted by Maniesh Paul. Anu Malik was one of the first judges of the popular music reality show.
Meanwhile, Indian Idol 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant is slated to join as judge on the show Love Me India on TV as mentor.
