After introducing the new Springfield cruiser in India, American motorcycle manufacturer Indian Motorcycle has announced the launch of the Chieftain Dark Horse in the country. The Chieftain Dark Horse, the black version of Indian Chieftain, has been priced at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the second offering of the company to be launched in November.
The new Chieftain Dark Horse gets darker tank console, blacked out headdress, and fuel tank finished in matte black. As the name indicates, most of the features of the Indian Chieftain come in black shade. Optional accessories are also offered in black. It gets 119mm telescopic front fork and single shock suspension at the rear.
It measures 2,571mm in length, 1,388mm in height, 1,000mm in width and has a wheelbase of 1,668mm and ground clearance of 142mm. It gets features like ABS, cast aluminium frame with integrated air-box, cruise control, keyless start, power windshield and 100 watt stereo with AM/FM bluetooth and smartphone compatible input as standard. Other features include fairing mounted instrument cluster featuring electronic speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge with odometer, black hanger handlebar, black fender and saddlebag.
Indian Motorcycle currently has five dealerships in India. It is expected to expand its network to Jaipur and Cochin in the coming months. The new Springfield cruiser, which was launched earlier this month, comes with a price tag of Rs 31.07 lakh (ex-showroom Gurgaon).
