An Indian Army helicopter was forced to land after it strayed into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) this afternoon. The Pakistani armed forces have detained four Indian army officers on board the chopper for violating the country's airspace.
It is reported that the Cheetah helicopter strayed in to PoK due to bad weather while flying from Kargil to Leh. Military spokesman Major-General Athar Abbas said that the helicopter was forced to land, as it strayed deep into their airspace. He added that the four-member crew on board the chopper is in safe custody and investigation on the incident is on.
Sources said that that Ministry of External Affairs has contacted the Pakistani government for early release of the detained army officers.
