Harbhajan Singh's return to ODI has been hailed by former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who wants the wily off-spinner to make the most of the opportunity.
Harbhajan Singh made his way to the Indian Test squad recently against Bangladesh where he bowled pretty well along with Ravichandran Ashwin. And now he has been picked for India's upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
The 34-year-old bowler will surely be leading the spin attack for India as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and others have been rested for the tour.
"It's a good comeback for Harbhajan. Hope he uses the opportunity to cement his place in the team," Ganguly told reporters on Tuesday.
Harbhajan Singh has a lot of experience under his belt, having played 228 ODIs and picked up 259 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.30.
He experience will be very useful to the new-look Indian squad. Earlier, he had a successful season with Mumbai Indians, both with the bat and the ball.
Manoj Tiwary has also been selected for the ODIs, giving him an opportunity to prove his worth. His injuries have been a matter of concern, but now he is fit and raring to go. He would look to add some runs to his name and impress selectors during the tour of Zimbabwe.
"It's good news for Tiwary. I wish him good luck for the series," Ganguly said.
India will be playing three ODIs and two T20 matches against Zimbabwe starting from 10 July.
