India is in the driver's seat as two veteran cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid took the team to 152/2 at stumps on day three of the first Test against West Indies at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
Chasing a target of 276 runs, Virender Sehwag scored a quick fire 55 of just 55 balls. His opening partnership of 57 runs with Gautam Gambhir laid a good foundation for the team. Rahul Dravid (30) and Tendulkar (33) will take the crease tomorrow with just 124 runs to score to take the first test home.
Earlier in the day, Ravichandran Ashwin restricted the West Indians to 180 in their second innings, taking 6 wickets and conceding just 47 runs. Shivnarine Chanderpaul (47) and Darren Sammy (42) showed some resilience but fall of wickets at regular intervals made the team end up with smaller total than expected.
