Stephen Constantine's Indian army will take on Nepal in a friendly match on Tuesday, June 6, in Mumbai and there are a few key players missing from the hosts. Will that have any impact on the match remains the big question. Watch the match LIVE.
Stabaek FC goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu remains the captain for the Indian football team against Nepal, and the 25-year-old definitely has a big job on his hands.
Sunil Chhetri remains the most notable absentee, while his Bengaluru FC wing partner Udanta Singh too remains unavailable.
Now, with CK Vineeth out of the equation as well, it is none but former Bengaluru FC forward Robin Singh and Mohun Bagan striker Jeje Lalpekhlua who has to take care of things up-front.
Here's the casualty list and the type of injuries suffered
- Sunil Chhetri: Mild hamstring pull
- CK Vineeth: Sore ankle
- Udanta Singh: Serious hamstring injury
"Sunil is a very good player and has been for a long time. I hope he has many more years to give for India," mentioned Constantine in the pre-match presser.
"I would like Chhetri to be leading the team in the AFC Asian Cup in 2019, if we qualify. The day he hangs his boots, it will be huge loss for Indian Football."
