What did the morale-boosting win against Nepal in the international friendly do for Stephen Constantine's Indian football team? That will be seen as the Blue Tigers take on Kyrgyz Republic in a crucial AFC Asian Cup 2019 qualifier on Tuesday, June 13, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
The away side looked not very keen on revealing their strategies of tackling the hosts during the pre-match press conference, and mentioned that they are not even looking for a draw, but only a win.
India, on the other hand, looked fairly calm during the media interaction on Monday, with Constantine and Sunil Chhetri claiming that the mood in the Indian football team dressing room was at an all-time high.
The British coach did mention that his men are way stronger than the Kyrgyz Republic players in the match and their fitness levels, stamina and the quest for working hard are at an all-time high.
The unavailability of key players CK Vineeth and Udanta Singh may not be that much of a problem for India, as Constantine looked fairly happy and confident, and Chhetri even said, "I'm charged up man", when asked how fit he was after recovering from his recent injury spell.
India won 3-1 against Myanmar in their first match of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers in March.
All eyes remain on the key fixture as the fortress of Bengaluru FC remains the battleground on Tuesday evening. Full AFC Asian Cup qualifiers fixtures here.
