As cool as a cucumber! The India junior hockey team started off their World Cup 2016 campaign on a high note, winning comfortably against Canada in their opening game. And as the India cricket team, under Virat Kohli, lock horns with England in the 4th Test at Wankhede, the Indian hockey colts prepare for a showdown with England on Saturday.
Both sides are undefeated from Group D of the Men's junior hockey World Cup 2016 and the clash at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow, India, remains one to watch out for.
While India got past Canada with a 4-0 result, courtesy of goals from Mandeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar and Ajit Pandey, England thrashed South Africa 4-2, with goals coming in from Edward Horler (brace), Peter Scott and Jonathan Griffiths.
The top two sides from the four groups seal an automatic berth to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The India junior hockey team are on a flying form this season as they have already defended the Asia Cup and also beaten Germany in a four-nation tournament in Valencia earlier this year. A win on Saturday could see them almost through to the quarterfinals of the junior World Cup.
"We are keenly looking forward to the match against India," England coach Jon Bleby was quoted by the Press Trust of India as saying ahead of the game. "We know that India are a tough side. They are in fine form and playing at home. So it is going to be a tough game but we are prepared and will try to go for a win."
