The Bangladeshi players, after putting up an incredible performance against Pakistan in their last series, will be eager to come up with a repeat performance in the one-off Test match against India at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Though they might have lost the Test series, they showed a lot of character in white uniform and won the ODI series convincingly.
There is no way that India can take the Bangladesh team lightly as they house a number of good players including Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Hoque, Shakib Al Hasan and others.
Skipper Rahim is excited with the prospect of facing India and said that it gives him an extra motivation when playing against men in Blue.
The skipper said, "For me, playing against India gives me extra motivation as the entire cricketing world will be watching the series with a lot of interest," PTI cited a local newspaper.
But, in order to succeed, Bangladesh need some of their top players like Tamim to fire on all cylinders and take an aggressive approach against the Indians and history suggests that he has given India some problems in the past, including the 2007 World Cup.
Tamim has been successful of late with the willow against Pakistan in the last Test series, wherein Iqbal scored a terrific double hundred as the Pakistani bowlers looked helpless.
He said that they will play their best to defeat India in the one-off Test. "We would try our best and play to win the Test match but for all practical purposes, I would like to win at least one ODI match during the three-match series," said Tamim.
Only one Test match is going to be played between the two sides, but three ODIs are set to be played in coloured outfit. In ODIs Bangladesh will be a major threat as was witnessed against Pakistan, where they blew them 3-0 in the series.
Though many might have stated that Bangladesh defeated a below-par Pakistan team, the same will no longer be said if they defeat India, who are one of the superpowers in world cricket.
"When we beat Pakistan in the ODI series, critics said that it was not a quality team. So there is extra bit of motivation for me to do well against India," added skipper Rahim.
