After seemingly putting a tough run of games behind them at the Gabba, the Australian batting has once again collapsed; this time against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Being asked to bat first by Virat Kohli after the Indian captain won the toss, the Aussie skipper Aaron Finch fell off his very first ball nicking a Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivery to Rishabh Pant who once again donned the keeping gloves.
That was only a precursor to an innings marred by wickets at regular intervals and fiery Indian celebrations led by the left-arm duo of Khaleel Ahmed and Krunal Pandya.
The Australia pain was Twitter's gain as social media jumped at poking fun in every way they could.

This man seemed confused as to where the game was being held.

This Twitter user wasn't impressed by Rishabh Pant's exploits behind the stumps.

But the Indian supporters' joy was shortlived as Australia's lower order added quick runs before a rain interruption reminded them of their last game's heartbreak.

Match b/w india vs rain
This fan had a rather agrarian suggestion.
Cricket Australia should program games in drought-stricken farming regions. Rain would fall for sure. #AUSvIND

This Twitter user outdid the Duckworth Lewis system with his humour.
India will need 185 off 15 overs under the Australian Duckworth Lewis process #AUSvIND
