The world took to Twitter to praise Virat Kohli and his heroics with the bat. Sportspersons, film stars and even India Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Kohli for his innings, which helped India beat Australia a seal a place in the World T20 semifinals.
Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff also tweeted about the knock that Kohli played. But, he ended up saying England middle-order batsman Joe Root is better than Kohli and the latter will only reach the former's level if he continues to play like this.
This did not make a lot of people happy. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was among those, who did not agree with Flintoff. Bachchan replied to Flintoff on the same thread saying - "Root who? Jar se ukhad denge Root ko (will rip Root from his roots)"
Amitabh Bachchan was present at the Eden Gardens when India and Pakistan squared off earlier in the tournament. He was also seen celebrating alongside Sachin Tendulkar after India beat their rivals.
