India U-19 skipper Ishan Kishan was arrested by the Patna Police on Tuesday for reckless driving.
Apparently, Ishan was driving his father's vehicle in Patna and he rammed the car into an auto on the street, causing injuries to the passengers in the auto.
Ishan got involved in a brawl with the injured passengers and in turn was beaten up until the locals decided to call the police.
The India U-19 captain was then arrested by the Patna Police and his vehicle has also been impounded.
The youngster plays for the Jharkhand Cricket Association after the Cricket Associaton of Bihar lost its affiliation to BCCI. He is a resident of Navada district in Bihar.
Nano News reported that the 17-year-old does not have the legal right to drive yet. The Indian cricket fans hope that this incident does not impact his performance in the upcoming ICC U-19 World Cup which starts on 22 Janaury in Bangladesh.
Kishan was recently appointed as the captain of the India U-19 team ahead of the ICC U-19 World Cup. India U-19 side begin their world cup campaign against Ireland on 28 January.
Kishan has played 10 Ranji Trophy matches for Jharkhand and has amassed 736 runs in as many matches with an average of above 40. He considers India skipper MS Dhoni and Australian great Adam Gilchrist his role models.
India U-19 coach and legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid is hopeful of yielding positive results in the forthcoming U-19 World Cup.
