Sanjay Bangar will be the head coach for India during their tour of Zimbabwe, scheduled to start June 11. The Men in Blue will play three ODIs and three T20Is in Harare.
Bangar, who is also the head coach of IPL side Kings XI Punjab, had worked with the Men in Blue as their assistant coach when Ravi Shastri was the team director, till the ICC World T20 2016.
Abhay Sharma, meanwhile, is named as the fielding coach of India during the tour, the BCCI have confirmed on Thursday evening.
Experienced customers like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan have been rested for the India tour of Zimbabwe. MS Dhoni, however, will be leading the side as usual. The 16-member squad for the Zimbabwe series includes consistent performers in the IPL, like Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Yuzvendra Chahal and KL Rahul. Full squad HERE.
The ODIs will be played on June 11, 13 and 15, while the T20Is will be played on June 18, 20 and 22. The matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club.
In July last year, India played three ODIs and two T20Is in Harare. While the ODI series was won 3-0 by the Men in Blue, the T20 series resulted in a 1-1 draw.
