The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors announced the ODI and T20 squads for the Australia tour and there were a number of surprises in those two squads.
Australia's potential threat a few years ago - Yuvraj Singh, made his way back into the T20 squad. The selectors could not get their eyes off him as he was in sublime form recently. He has scored more than any other Indian batsmen in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy with an astounding average.
Suresh Raina has been dropped from the ODI squad but the UP-lad retained his place in the T20 side.
Ashish Nehra too was recalled in the T20 squad after a long time. His hard work and his performances in the domestic season and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) earned him this position.
Ravindra Jadeja has earned his place in both the ODI and T20 squad after his dream comeback against South Africa in the Test series. He also has been in sublime form in the domestic season as well. Mohammed Shami too is all set.
Brainder Sran was the most surprising pick in the ODI squad. The lad from Punjab who once was into boxing has now been called for the Team India ODI side to perform his left-arm fast bowling duties.
Manish Pandey made it into the ODI squad after his good spell with the willow in the domestic season. Suprisingly, Shreyas Iyer was ignored yet again even after his heroics with the bat throughout the doemstic season and also for India A. That left a few critics tweeting about their disappointment right after the squad was announced.
Let us have a look at what people had to say on Twitter and how they trolled the selection of Ashish Nehra:
Shreyas Iyer must've made a compelling case...and that's why I feel it's the make or break T20 series for Dhawan. Must fire.
