Swashbuckling batsman Virat Kohli has mentioned that the India Cricket Team look perfect in every aspect possible and ahead of the ICC World T20 2016, this can only come as a great positive for the Men in Blue.
India won their sixth Asia Cup title Sunday after defeating hosts Bangladesh by eight wickets at the Sher-e-Punjab stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli himself performed to the fullest of their abilities to chase down the target of 121 and get the win as well as clinch the trophy.
It was not only in the final that they produced the result but Team India displayed their mettle in all of their T20I games in the calendar year 2016 to enter the ICC World T20 2016 as the No 1 team. MS Dhoni's men won ten of their 11 Twenty20 format games in the calendar year so far and they have also won seven on the trot.
Kohli feels it's the result of the team having the right balance that helped India reach this stage. Looking ahead to the second round of the ICC World T20 -- starting March 15 -- the 27-year-old feels that if the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Hardik Pandya, along with Dhoni and Dhawan, stay in the best of their forms, it'll be very difficult for the other teams to get past India.
"It is important that everyone stays confident and everyone stays in form," Kohli was quoted as saying by the BCCI website. "Last few games we saw Yuvraj Singh playing crucial knocks. Suresh Raina is always a dangerous player in T20 cricket, Rohit Sharma has been magnificent and MS Dhoni knows his job more than anyone else.
"Hardik Pandya is a beautiful striker and now Shikhar is back in form. I am striking it decently as well. Everyone going into the T20 World cup is feeling good and confident and hopefully we can keep things simple and continue this winning momentum forward.
"The boys have played some really good cricket and it has been wonderful to be a part of such magnificent run of form for the whole team," Kohli elucidated.
India take on New Zealand in their first match of the ICC World T20 2016 on March 15.
