MS Dhoni is one of the favourite India cricketers and even when he is not playing, the Jharkhand man manages to bag the headlines. There have been lots of talk about MS Dhoni and the possibility of his lack of match practice and fitness ahead of the ODI and the T20 series against England early next year. He last played for India against New Zealand in October.
However, there are chances that Dhoni might feature for India A ahead of the ODI series. India A will play England at CCI ground in Mumbai.
Though people might have been talking about him not having match practice under his belt, Dhoni confirmed that he is in perfect shape as he has been training seriously in the gym.
"I've been training and gymming in Ranchi... Keeping myself in shape (for the ODIs and the T20Is against England)," The Telegraph quoted Dhoni as saying.
Dhoni, whenever he has played for India, has never been questioned for his fitness. His running between the wickets is a perfect example to his fitness, which shows that he is one of the fittest cricketers in the team.
Dhoni, who retired from Test cricket in December 2014, has not played any competitive cricket after the last home series against New Zealand. Currently, the domestic season is on for Ranji Trophy, hence he has not featured for his state team in the competition, but he has been training with the side.
India and England are set to play three ODI and three T20 matches, starting January 15, and if one looks at Dhoni's record, one should not think too much about it. The skipper will lead from the front and hope to steer India towards an important win.
