Bangalore, Sept 23 (ANI): India collaborates
with Sweden on promoting environmentally
sustainable transport (EST) which will lead to
accomplish safe, reliable, affordable,
efficient, people-centric and environment
friendly transport system. Karnataka Chief
Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the workshop
on "the way to sustainable transport: an
Indo-Swedish perspective". Swedish Envoy to
India Harald Sandberg and senior advisor to
Sweden trade minister, Ambassador Jonas
Hafstrom, were also present at the event in the
country's IT hub of Bangalore. The aim of their
visit is to identify areas within transport and
urban planning with potential for further
collaboration between the two countries. Calling
for best practices and planning for transforming
Indian cities and towns safe for all,
Siddaramaiah said the workshop will foster
economical, social and environmental
developments. The visit by the transport
delegation from Sweden is a reciprocal visit to
strengthen the bilateral relation between Sweden
and India and aims to integrate developing
countries in the world economy and contribute in
the eradication of poverty.
