India will celebrate its 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday, August 15. Every Indian fills with pride as they remember the country's struggle towards Independence, honour martyrs who sacrificed their live for the freedom struggle and look back at the seven decade long journey from the day we attained independence in 1947.
Apart from Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort and flag hoisting in offices, schools and other venues, August 15 grants everyone a mid-week off this year which gives a chance to catch up on some movies.
The theatres will be serving four patriotic-themed movies: Rishi Kapoor-Taapsee Pannu starrer Mulk (which has already released and garnering good reviews), Akshay Kumar's sports-themed movie Gold, John Abraham's action-packed flick Satyameva Jayate and Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2.
But if you're in no mood to get out of the house, the television, Netflix and Amazon Prime has a variety of movies that you could watch. We've compiled some of the best Indian movies you could watch this Independence Day.
