Income tax (I-T) officials raided the premises of Apollo Hospitals across India on Tuesday, but the reason behind the raids could not be ascertained, according to media reports.
Besides the hospitals, raids were conducted on the residence of Preetha Reddy, executive vice-chairperson, Apollo Hospitals.
"I can confirm that the raids began this morning," a senior income tax official was quoted as saying by The Economic Times.
Apollo Hospitals is yet to issue a statement.
The Apollo Hospitals Group operates 9,200 beds across 64 hospitals.
The Apollo Hospitals share closed at Rs 1,466.75 on Tuesday on the BSE, up 1.35%
