Imran Khan's win at the 2018 Pakistan general elections was expected given the massive support the cricketer-turned-politician has garnered over the past years. However, people wouldn't have guessed this kind of support a few years ago. Except for a Pir (faith healer) who predicted the PTI chief's future as the prime minister of Pakistan. According to Indian legendary talk show hostess Simi Garewal, the same Pir also predicted Imran Khan's assassination.
In a tweet from over a week ago, which has now been deleted, Simi talked about how Imran had once told her about a Pir who had predicted his win and eventual death after becoming the PM.
This has unsurprisingly caused concern among supporters of the charismatic leader and founder of the political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Despite the tweet having been deleted, many continue to address it on Twitter, expressing their concern over the so-called prediction.
I had chills down my spine. Please tell me this is fake.

@Simi_Garewal Thanks for deleting that depressing tweet Maam, you have no idea how much Imran Khan means to us, we are even willing to give our life away for him and to protect him. May God bless Imran Khan and keep him safe.

@Simi_Garewal thank you for pointing out that IK's life is in danger.

I request the concerns to keep IK's oath taking ceremony safe for him, even if takes to make him say the words in the parliament. @ImranKhanPTI
PTI emerged as the single largest party in the 2018 general elections but failed to secure the required 137 seats to form an independent government. Refusing to tie up with the established PPP and PML(N) parties, they are now in talks with one of the smaller parties to form a coalition.
Simi's tweet on the PM elect's 'predicted' assassination might have scared a few of his supporters, but most simply hope that Imran will be the change that the country desperately needs. Having promised the voters a 'New Pakistan', Imran is all set to be sworn in as the prime minister of Pakistan on August 11.
While the Pakistan foreign ministry has stated that no foreign leaders have been invited to the ceremony, the invitation was reportedly extended to a few Indian cricketers, including legends like Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
