Nayanthara seems to be unstoppable right now. Over the years, her solo movies have gained a market in Tamil Nadu and it is evident that her latest film Imaikkaa Nodigal got a good start at the Tamil Nadu box office.
Two weeks after Kolamaavu Kokila, a blockbuster at Kollywood box office, Imaikkaa Nodigal was also released to a good hype on August 30. Owing to financial issues, the morning and matinee shows of the movie were cancelled across Tamil Nadu.
As a result, the first-day collection of Imaikkaa Nodigal was not up to the mark, but the movie was opened to highly positive reviews, which translated into business in the next two days. Hence, the Nayanthara-starrer managed to collect Rs 1.70 crore in Chennai and around Rs 10 crore in Tamil Nadu.
It is a big number for a movie which does not have an A-list actor playing the lead role.
Imaikkaa Nodigal has a good story backed by well-written thrilling moments in the film. Nayanthara's performance and Bollywood filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap's menacing act are the major highlights of the Tamil flick.
Joining audience and critics, many celebrities that include AR Murugadoss have hailed Ajay Gnanamuthu-directorial film.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara's other film Kolamaavu Kokila has continued to do well at the Tamil Nadu box office. The movie has grossed Rs 4.99 crore in Chennai and over Rs 25 crore in Tamil Nadu.
