Actress Ileana D'Cruz, who has not been seen in a Telugu movie for the last four years, has opened up on her absence in Tollywood, saying that she is still in touch with Puri Jagannadh, Rana Daggubati and others.
Ileana D'Cruz made her acting debut with the Telugu movie "Devadasu" in 2006 and went on to become one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry during the next six years. She was last seen the Tollywood movie, "Devudu Chesina Manushulu," in 2012. But Ileana has not signed a Telugu project after the success of her debut Bollywood movie "Barfi" in 2012.
Since then, several speculations have been floated about her comeback to Tollywood, but none of them turned out to be true. It was rumoured that some filmmakers had approached her with offers, but she rejected them. However, Ileana D'Cruz, who was recently in Hyderabad, has a different say on the offers. She has revealed that she wants to come back, but nobody is approaching her with good offers.
Talking to media, she turned nostalgic about the city. "I want to come back. I am still in touch with Puri (Jagannadh), Rana (Daggubati) and Pragathi among others. We try and catch up as much as possible but I really miss this place. I miss the food even more. The first thing I did when I came here was to order biryani," Deccan Chronicle quoted her as saying.
Ileana says never wanted to quit Tollywood and settled down in Bollywood, but people from the industry misunderstood her and stopped offering her roles. "I would love to be back here. It was a lot more fun working in Tollywood. I was doing four films a year... I was constantly working. In Bollywood, it is a much longer process. But I love both industries," the actress said.
"There was no plan to settle down in Bollywood and not do films in Tollywood. I guess people misunderstood when I did my first Bollywood film ('Barfi') and since it was a big success, may be people thought I was not interested in Tollywood anymore. But from my side, there was no plan to stop," Ileana added.
