Kaththi hit the screens exactly two years ago on October 22. The movie, which marked the reunion of Vijay and AR Murugadoss after their blockbuster Thuppakki, released to unprecedented hype as a Deepavali treat to Kollywood cine-goers.

On this special day, the fans of Vijay are thanking AR Murugadoss for churning out a film, which is considered to be a landmark in Ilayathalapathy's career. They are sharing their experience of watching the film on the first day and how much the film had an impact on them.

Kaththi was not just another routine entertainer, but a movie with a strong message. It was a hard-hitting film on our system, which continues to exploit farmers. The Tamil flick tried to expose the nexus of politicians, media and businessmen.

A common man, in an unexpected situation, realises how the people in power take farmers for granted. Hence, he leads a group of people to fight against the injustice. What follows next remains the best part of the flick.

It was released when the nation was having the debate on Land Acquisition Amendment Bill. Hence, the movie was close to the hearts of the masses. Cutting across the borders, Kaththi managed to garner good appreciation from the non-Tamil audience.

Kaththi had Samantha in the female lead role and Neil Nitin Mukesh played the role of a villain. Tota Roy Chowdhury, Sathish, Yuvina Parthavi, Jeeva Ravi and others were in the supporting cast. Anirudh Ravichander composed music, George C Williams handled cinematography and A Sreekar Prasad handled the editing department.

The audience liked the engaging story backed by stupendous performance of Vijay in the film. Anirudh's music was a major highlight.
