In yet another suicide case at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, a final-year BTech student has ended his life in Chennai on Monday.
Rahul G Prasad, who hails from Kollam district of Kerala, was reportedly found hanging inside his hostel room and the cause of the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
This is the second suicide case to be reported at the Chennai-based technology institute within a month.
On 21 September, an MTech student from Andhra Pradesh had committed suicide at IIT Madras. The 23-year-old was reportedly depressed about failing an entrance exam to study at an institution abroad.
Suicide cases have also been reported at IIT Guwahati and IIT Bombay over the past few months.
