The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2018 brought tears to the eyes of millions when they paid a heart-warming tribute to legendary actress Sridevi who died on February 24.
The video showcased some of Sridevi's iconic movie scenes and dance numbers but it is quite hard to imagine that one of India's prestigious award functions have just ripped off somebody else's hard work and were so lazy to compile a video of their own.
A woman named Saba Arif has lashed out at the organisers of IIFA Awards for stealing her tribute video of Sridevi which she had posted on her YouTube channel on March 25.
The 19th edition of IIFA Awards place at Bangkok, Thailand, on June 25 and was aired on television on July 30.
In a Facebook post, Saba Arif said that she was shocked to see her video being played on the show. She expressed her anger of how IIFA Awards organisers eluded her the biggest privilege of her career by not giving he due credit for the compilation.
Sridevi's tribute video, which was played at IIFA Awards, was tweaked with some childhood images of the legendary actress and an additional male voice over. The organisers of the prestigious award show are yet to issue a clarification on the plagiarism allegations made against them by Saba Arif.

"It's so heartbreaking when something you've worked on gets ripped off and passed off as someone else's work. I just happened to turn on the TV to watch the IIFA awards last night and I got the rude shock of having MY video played on the show without my permission!
To see the entire film fraternity tearing up after having watched the video that I made might have been the biggest privilege of my career, if it hadn't been for the fact that they didn't acknowledge me at all for having made it.
Way to go IIFA Awards COLORS TV Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Thanks so much for stealing my #Sridevi tribute video at the #IIFA2018 awards.
Your laziness, lack of scruples, and incompetence shines through. Just goes to show how sincere your tribute was, after all.
