Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar bought the house down with their charismatic hosting prowess at the grand IIFA Awards 2024. The Saturday night was extra special as when SRK recreated his iconic pose by spreading his arms wide before he started with his hosting duties. He then called Karan Johar his co-host on stage.
As soon as Karan came he first kissed and hugged SRK, and the actor stopped him immediately saying, 'People will make talk dirty'. Apart from SRK and Karan, Vicky Kaushal was also one of the co-hosts and together Vicky, Karan and SRK danced to Jhoome Jo Pathaan.
SRK and Vicky grooved to Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam and the crowd cheered the loudest, making it a night to remember for all.
Shah Rukh Khan danced with Vicky on his hit song, Tauba Tauba. SRK and Vicky danced to Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava and Mere Mehboob mere Sanam. The song is originally from the film Duplicate starring Sonali Bendre, SRK and Juhi Chawla, the song was recreated for Vicky starrer Bad Newz.
Karan Johar touched SRK's feet as he received an award for completing 25 years as a filmmaker
Shah Rukh and Vicky presented Karan with the award, leading a heartfelt tribute. Shah Rukh began by saying, "Legacy is what you create for the ages," with Vicky adding, "For generations. Or generally, parents leave behind a legacy for their children." Shah Rukh continued, "And sometimes there are fortunate parents whose children carry that legacy forward. This is for a cute, little boy who not only fulfilled his father's dreams but also took them to new heights. My brother, my friend, my partner in both good and bad times—the one and only Karan Johar."
Karan was surprised when his name came and walked up to the stage, gave a tight hug to Vicky and touched Shah Rukh's feet in gratitude while accepting the award.
Another performer of the evening saw Rekha returning to the IIFA stage after a long time. Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor and Vicky added a dash of glamour at the awards night.
