Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Sooraj Pancholi and Tiger Shroff attended the press conference of the 17th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Mumbai recently. The 4-day extravaganza will be held in Madrid, Spain, from June 23 to June 26.
Apart from Salman and other celebs who gathered to share the excitement about the IIFA celebrations, music sensations Meet Brothers, Kanika Kapoor, Monali Thakur, and Benny Dayal too appeared at the media event to talk about their performances at the IIFA Rocks/MULA Fest in Madrid. Elli Avram and Daisy Shah were also present at the conference.
Salman, who will be performing at IIFA 2016, interacted with media and talked about the grand fest. "IIFA is like one big carnival and I look forward to performing at the NEXA IIFA Awards this June in Spain. Like so many great cities of the world, Madrid will witness the beauty and magic of Indian cinema with IIFA. IIFA has consistently played a crucial role in widening the horizon of the Indian film industry to the world," Salman said.
Also, Anil, who has attended the conferences of IIFA since the beginning, shared his excitement as well. "I have had a longstanding bond with the IIFA Academy and after having been part of several IIFAs, I am always amazed each time by the grandeur and the effort that goes into making it a grand celebration. With my experience of working in international films, I have noticed that IIFA goes a long way in presenting the best of the Indian film industry and is a great way to promote India's soft power. I am eagerly looking forward to the Videocon d2h IIFA Weekend and I'm sure it's going to be more special than ever before," Anil Kapoor said at the conference.
The star-studded IIFA 2016 is set to witness power-packed performances by several Bollywood superstars like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha. Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar will be the hosts for this year.
IIFA Rocks will also have amazing performances by Meet Brothers, Kanika Kapoor, Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Monali Thakur and Papon. To add to the glitz, Parineeti Chopra, Elli Avram, Daisy Shah and Sooraj Pancholi will also perform at IIFA Rocks. A special teaser screening of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Mirziya" will be shown as well during the 4-days extravaganza.
Ranveer Singh, Boney Kapoor, Sridevi, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Dia Mirza, Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani, Kabir Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Neha Dhupia, Sohail Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Madhavan, Aftab Shivdasani and Shriya Saran are among the celebs who will attend the IIFA this year.
