Moto, formerly known as Motorola, launched the new Moto Z Play on Wednesday, just two days ahead of IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2016.
The new Moto Z Play sports a 5.5-inch full HD super AMOLED screen with finger print sensor at the bottom and comes with a blend of metal and glass body with aluminium frame around the edges and glass cover on the back.
Under the hood, it houses 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core with Motorola Mobile Computing System backed by 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage, 16MP primary camera and a 5MP snapper on the front.
The key aspect of Moto Z Play is its battery. It comes packed with a massive 3,510mAh cell, which is capable of keeping the phone running for close to 50 hours under mixed usage and it also boasts TurboCharge feature, where-in 15 minutes of charging is enough power the phone for up to 9 hours.
Besides the Moto Z Play, the company in collaboration with camera-maker Hasselblad, unveiled a new photography-centric Moto Mod accessory True Zoom. It boasts of 10x Optical Zoom and a Xenon flash and also allows users to shoot in RAW format and manually control shutter and zoom.
Moto Z Play release and availability details:
Moto Z Play comes in six colour options -- Black, Silver, Black Slate, White, Fine Gold and Sugar White -- and is said to be made available globally in September. It will cost €499 in Europe.
In U.S., it will sold under Moto Z Play Droid moniker via Verizon for $408 ($17/month). Regular GSM model and also the original Moto Z will be released through other carrier networks in October for $699.99 (unlocked) and $449.99 (with-out contract), respectively.
As far as Hasselblad True Zoom is concerned, it is said to cost €299 in Europe, $249.99 in the U.S via Verizon and $299.99 through Motorola.com.
As of now, there is no official word on when the Moto Z Play will be made available in India.
