Chinese Telecommunication behemoth Huawei has taken the wraps off the new flagship smartphone dubbed as Mate S at the prestigious electronics trade fair IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin)2015 in Germany.
"Our goal in designing the Huawei Mate S was to develop a smartphone that offers a personalized experience, rather than a commoditized one," said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer BG.
"The Huawei Mate S is based on insights we gathered about human interaction – most notably that touch is a natural action we take to understand and interact with our world. The Huawei Mate S redefines how we incorporate touch technology into our smartphones, taking a revolutionary approach to touch screen control and ushering in a new era for human-machine interaction," he added.
Mate S looks stunning in the new sleek design and the all-metal cover with finger-print (v2.0) on the rear-side, which increases the premium quotient of the phone. Word on the street is that the company is expected to use similar design language in the upcoming Nexus 6 (2015).
Huawei's new device also boasts impressive hardware inside. It ships with the company's proprietary 64-bit Hisilicon Kirin 935 Octa-core, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage, a 13mp main camera with OIS, an 8mp front-snapper and a 2700 mAh battery.
Huawei Mate S with Force Touch Coming Later this Year
Yes, you heard it right. Before Apple could unveil new iPhone 6S with Force Touch features, the Chinese company claims to have developed the advanced display technology.
The new Mate S variant with Force Touch will hit stores in select markets by the end of 2015. The device will be capable of registering input based on the levels of pressure on the screen – allowing the user to complete different actions such as zooming in to a photo or launching an app.
This technology also allows the screen to be used as an approximate scale, said Huawei, while promising that the company will be bringing in new Force Touch technology compatible apps to the device in the future.
Huawei Mate S Price and Availability Details:
The company has confirmed that the new Mate S models will be made initially in 30 regions including China, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Spain, South Africa and UAE. The 32GB model costs €649 (around $729/₹48,300) and the 64GB variant will set you back by €699 (around $785/₹52,000).
