Silambarasan aka Simbu's "Idhu Namma Aalu" has got a decent start at the international box office. In its first weekend, the Tamil film has earned about Rs. 2.80 crore ($416,648) overseas, Tamilboxoffice1 reported.
Among all the centres, it is in Malaysia where "Idhu Namma Aalu" has done well at the box office. The movie has collected Rs. 1.39 crore (MYR 848,322) from 75 screens. The flick has also made notable collection in the U.S. by raking in Rs. 35.07 lakh ($52,377) from 35 screens.
In the U.K. box office, "Idhu Namma Aalu" has raked in Rs. 13.34 lakh (£13,622) from five screens. The movie has collected Rs. 90.59 lakh ($134,916) from the rest of the world. However, the Tamil flick should hold well in the coming days so as to earn profit.
"Idhu Namma Aalu" was released in 16 foreign countries in over 200 screens. It had released big in Malaysia (75 screens), the U.S. (35 screens), U.A.E. (31 screens) and Sri Lanka (22 screens).

The flick has got a good start in Tamil Nadu. In fact, the movie has become the highest-grossing movie of Simbu in the first weekend in the state. It has collected Rs. 14.05 crore from 350+ screens at the box office.
"Idhu Namma Aalu" has garnered good reviews from the critics and audience. Hence, the industry is expecting the film to do well in the coming days. No big banner films are releasing in the next weeks which will be an advantage for the flick to perform well at the collection centres.
The film has Nayanthara and Andrea Jeremiah in the female lead roles. It has been written and directed by Pandiraj.
