Indian telecom major, Idea Cellular has released a new budget Android phone Aurus 4 into the Indian market.
Idea Cellular, Chief Marketing Officer, Sashi Shankar said, "The young and savvy youth of India has a huge appetite for content on mobile, but is deterred due to highly priced smartphones in India. Idea is bridging this gap by offering 3G smartphones packed with high-end features at relatively low price. Idea Aurus 4 is the latest addition to our growing portfolio of 3G devices which is enabling a large base of Idea users experience 3G for the first time in India."
Aurus 4 sports 4.5-inch WVGA display with 480x854p resolutions and runs on the Android Jelly Bean OS powered by a dual-core processor with top CPU speed of 1.3GHz.
The new budget phone is priced ₹8,999. It features 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage, 5.0-megapixel main camera with flash support, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and 1800 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) slots, 3G network support, Bluetooth v4.0 and micro-USB v2.0.
