ICC World T20 2016: Oppo launches Cricket series limited-edition F1 smartphone in India

Chinese smartphone-maker Oppo, global partner of International Cricket Council's  (ICC) World T20 2016, has launched a special edition of its F1 phone in India.

The new limited-edition Oppo F1 houses the same internal hardware as the original, which was launched earlier in the year. Key differences between the two variants is the former features a special ICC World T20 2016 insignia on the rear, whereas the latter comes in plain colour with just the company's brand "Oppo" engraved.

For the uninitiated, the USP of the Oppo F1 series smartphone is the front camera. It boasts a feature-rich 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, ¼-inch sensor, Beautify v3.0 tool and a special software to brighten display to bring out flash-like effect while taking a selfie, similar to the top-end Apple iPhone 6S series.

On the back, it comes packed with a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and single-LED flash.

Under the hood, it comes packed with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, a Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage and a 2,500mAh cell.

The company has confirmed the new Oppo F1 variant costs Rs 17,990, Rs 2,000 more than the original.

It also comes with a special package containing a ICC World T20 2016-edition keychain, a selfie stick and a rear-guard with the ICC logo. Oppo is also conducting a special selfie contest, wherein lucky contestants stand a chance to win VIP passes to the ICC World T20 2016 final match and also a few gift vouchers.
