The United States Secretary of State John Kerry met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday to discuss Indo-US Strategic and Commercial dialogue at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan in New Delhi.
During the discussion, both Swaraj and Kerry acknowledged the deep ties and partnership between India and the United States. Kerry, while addressing the opening plenary session with Swaraj, said that he was honoured to be back in Delhi.
2. Madhya Pradesh: Rape victim's fingers chopped off by accused out on bail
A 27-year-old rape victim in Madhya Pradesh was beaten up and two fingers of her right hand were chopped off allegedly by the accused released on bail last month. Identified as 45-year-old Kunwar Lal, the accused was arrested again on Monday. Two of his accomplices â€" Mahendra Yadav and Bhagwan Yadav â€" are absconding.
3. Shahid Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Prabhu Deva to meet Donald Trump in September
U.S. Republican presidential contender Donald Trump will reportedly hobnob with Bollywood celebrities like Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora at a charity event organised by the Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) in New Jersey on Sep. 24.
Celebrities like actors Yami Gautam, Amisha Patel, Kajal Aggarwal, Shriya Saran and Ram Charan, actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva and singer Kanika Kapoor are also expected to attend the event.
4. England post world record score to thump Pakistan and clinch series
England's ascent into one-day stardom culminated in a wonderful day out at Trent Bridge on Tuesday, when they broke Sri Lanka's decade-old record of 443 for nine against the Netherlands by bashing Pakistan for 444/3, the highest-ever score in an ODI game.
