Nina Dobrev proved that she's still friends with her "The Vampire Diaries" cast mates when she had a reunion with Candice Accola and Kayla Ewell over the weekend.
Dobrev posted online a number of pictures from her day out with the girls, and she seemed to have had a good time catching up with "The Vampire Diaries" crowd.
Although it was just the girls this time around, according to a new report, it won't be long before Dobrev and her former beau Ian Somerhalder reunite.
Somerhalder and Dobrev, who started dating a few months after meeting on the sets of "The Vampire Diaries", split in 2013 after being in a relationship for over three years. Nikki Reed's entry into Somerhalder's life in mid 2014 is said to have strained his relationship with Dobrev, and this was cited as one of the reasons for her departure from the CW show.
Reed was also said to be the reason why Somerhalder decided to unfollow Dobrev on Twitter, as the "Twilight" alum is said to have been insecure of the former lovers' relationship.
But Reed's worrying days might be far from over. "Nina Dobrev's former castmates have hinted at Nina's return to 'The Vampire Diaries' as Elena, and that would mean a reunion with Ian Somerhalder," a new Celeb Dirty Laundry report noted.
"The Vampire Diaries" cast teased the possible return of Dobrev's character at San Diego Comic- Con 2015, with Somerhalder pointing out that Elena was very much alive.
"She's still there, dude. She's in a casket; she's having a nap," he said, and Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan, added, "[Characters] die and come back. It's like Jesus!"
Candice Accola opened up about Dobrev's departure saying: "I think that's what's fun about this series. You never know when characters are going to leave, you never know when they're going to come back. That's been a constant for six seasons, now. So the fact that, for such a big departure, that it is left open-ended, is really true to the show."
"The Vampire Diaries" returns to the CW in October.
