Nina Dobrev reportedly avoided ex-beau Ian Somerhalder and his girlfriend Nikki Reed at the Golden Globes after party.
"The Vampire Diaries" actress did not want to become a party to Somerhalder and Reed's PDA, so she deliberately kept her distance from the couple. She supposedly enjoyed with her group of friends and kept to the opposite side of the soiree.
"Nina avoided Ian and Nikki like the plague. It was really uncomfortable because Ian and Nikki were walking around like they were the prom king and queen," a source revealed to Hollywoodlife. The duo packed on PDA with a lip lock and couldn't keep their hands of each other throughout the evening, according to further reports.
At one point during the evening, Dobrev apparently had an awkward run in with Reed. "Nina couldn't avoid them forever though as they ran into each other, which was really awkward. They all just kept slowly walking by each other as they smiled and briefly said, 'Hello.' I felt bad for Nina," the source added.
Dobrev and Somerhalder got romantically involved while shooting for "TVD" and dated for about three years. However, they pulled the plug on their relationship for unknown reasons in 2013 and since have maintained a strict professional relationship.
Meanwhile, Somerhalder started dating Reed in 2014 and the couple is going strong and is also rumoured to be planning to walk down the aisle soon. They sparked engagement rumours after they were spotted shopping for jewellery at Neil Lane during Christmas break. They were also seen browsing for jewellery at New Stone, according to Daily Mail.
Somerhalder and Reed's rep are yet to comment on the engagement rumours. However, if the news is true, it might not surprise many as the 36-year-old actor has gushed about his ladylove on many occasions. He has taken to Twitter many times and has shared his feelings for Reed, with his fans.
