"The Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder's marriage to "Twilight" alum Nikki Reed might be going through a rough patch.
According to a new report, the couple is constantly bickering about starting a family. While Somerhalder wants to start making baby plans as soon as possible, Reed is believed to have expressed a desire to wait for a while as she wants to concentrate on her acting career.
A Life & Style source revealed that the duo just settled into their new $2.9 million Los Angeles home and the actor "has really been pushing Nikki to start a family." But "she feels she's just not ready yet, and that's put a tremendous strain on their marriage."
An OK! Magazine report added: "They're arguing a lot. Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now."
This is probably the second time in less than a month that news of their alleged marital discord has grabbed headlines. Early this month, a Celeb Dirty Laundry report pointed out that Reed and Somerhalder should have discussed their plans for the future before rushing into marriage.
The duo got married in April 2015 after less than a year of dating.
"Ian is nine years older than his new bride, and pushing 40 years old – it's no wonder that he is eager to settle down. But, he and Nikki probably should have discussed their plans for the future before their wedding earlier this year," the media outlet noted.
Interestingly, rumour swirling around indicate that it was Somerhalder's desire to settle down and start a family that caused his breakup with Nina Dobrev, who was his co-star on the CW vampire drama.
Somerhalder and Dobrev dated for about three years before calling it quits in mid 2013. Somerhalder started dating Reed roughly a year later.
