Ian Somerhalder, 35, and Nikki Reed, 26, are not camouflaging their love from the world. The two made an official appearance as a couple at the Teen Choice Awards on August 10.
Reed accompanied Somerhalder, who was up for two awards. The couple was also seen together at the Young Hollywood Awards on July 28.
Reports claimed that Somerhalder and Reed are quite serious about each other.
"Nikki and Ian are talking about getting tattoos together," a source told Hollywood Life, adding, "They want to get a matching quote instead of each other's names because Nikki has already done the name thing with two of her exes and neither one of them worked out. She wants to do something different with Ian."
The two have been spotted together on many occasions off late - from going out for walk together to buying groceries. They were also caught indulging in PDA during the recent Comic Con festival, as per reports. A source told People that they got cozy and kissed passionately.
Meanwhile, Somerhalder has also suggested that he wants to get married soon.
"I will be. I will be. I mean eventually, in my life! No, I mean eventually," he said when asked about marriage at the Comic Con festival.
Somerhalder dated "Vampire Dairies" co-star Nina Dobrev before getting into relationship with Reed. Interestingly, Dobrev, Somerhalder and Reed are common friends.
It has also been reported Somerhalder and Reed had sought for Dobrev's blessing.
"It's a little awkward right now because they have the same friend circle as Nina and no one is quite sure how to react. But it's not like Nikki stole him away from Nina, they've been broken up more than a year. But it's still a bit awkward for everyone, they're all waiting for Nina's blessing," a source had told Hollywood Life.
Dobrev is said to be fine with Somerhalder dating Reed.
"If Ian and Nikki are happy, then Nina is fine with it," a source told the website, adding, "Nina just has to live her life and the fact that Ian is still in it is not under her control, it's just business. She refuses to allow emotions take over a paycheck."
