There is no way anyone can stop the fastest man on the planet -- Usain Bolt -- from winning the gold medals at major tournaments. The Jamaican, again, ran an amazing 200m race to win his second gold medal of the 2015 World Championships at the Bird's Nest in Beijing. Bolt crossed the finishing line in 19.55s, while Gatlin had to settle for silver with a timing of 19.74s.
South African Anaso Jobodwana clinched the bronze medal in 19.87 seconds after a photo finish with Panama's Alonso Edward. All the top four athletes in the 200m event finished the race well within the 19.90mark, which is another major highlight.
However, the fight for the gold medal was always between Bolt and Gatlin. The American was expected to put up a close fight and he started the race in the best manner possible, but Bolt proved to be too good for his opponent, as the Jamaican won yet another 200m gold medal.
Bolt cruised the last 10m of the race with a huge smile across his face while thumping his chest, and pointing to himself, saying "he is the man". Gatlin, after finishing second in the race, went over and congratulated Bolt for his stupendous performance.
Bolt, who might have missed a number of competitions during the season, has silenced his critics with his two amazing runs at the championships, following up on his gold medal in the 100m. Such performances from Bolt makes us wonder if he will ever be beaten in the 200m event.
With this 200m victory, Bolt has managed a rare feat of winning the event four times in succession at the World Championships.
No wonder, fans and experts refer to the Jamaican the greatest sprinter to have graced the sport of athletics.
