The launch of i20 Active has already been confirmed for March by the company. However, Hyundai did not specify the exact launch date. Now a new report by Gaadi claims that the new crossover will be launched on 17 March in India.
Auto lovers in the country have already seen numerous spy shots of i20 Active, with the latest one being the official sketch of the model from the company.
i20 Active, a crossover based on the Hyundai Elite i20, has been styled and designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany. Visually, the i20 Active will see new front fascia with projector headlamps daytime running lights LED and fog lights and new front grille.
The rear profile of the car will also include changes. From what we have seen, the i20 Active is likely to show off new bumper with circular reflectors, roof spoiler, plastic claddings and new i20 Active badge.
Under the hood, the crossover from the house of Hyundai is likely to carry over the same mills of its Elite i20 sibling in the form of 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor.
The transmission is likely to come from 5-speed manual transmission for petrol and 6-speed manual gearbox for diesel. The petrol engine of Elite i20 has the capacity to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor generates 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm.
