Shankar's "I" is set to create history in Bengaluru. The Tamil movie has gotten fantastic response through advance booking and it is now expected to do record business.
"I" has over 150 shows in Bengaluru and is witnessing a never before response for a Tamil movie. The advance booking reveals that the 75% of the shows are registering 100% occupancy and the rest 25% shows have registered about 80% occupancy.
This will most likely lead to a stunning box office number in Bengaluru. The multiplexes have dedicated majority of the screens to "I" and are cashing in on the occasion. They have increased the number of shows to meet the demand and ticket prices have also been hiked in some cinema halls.
However, this does not mean that single screens are making less money. Most of the theatres have 800+ seats, with Urvashi and Maheshwari housing over 1100 audience per show.
The early estimation of gross collection of "I" in Bengaluru comes close to record ₹2 crores, which will be a record. While the single screens are expected to contribute somewhere between ₹50-60 lakhs, the major chunk comes from multiplexes, which have sold tickets at fancy rates.
We have to note that we have not taken the business of its Telugu version into the consideration. The Tollywood version has been released in just above 10 screens and will contribute a few lakhs.
"I", which has Amy Jackson as the female lead role, has been released worldwide in two languages. The movie has seen the light of the day in 3000+ screens. The early prediction says that the movie has gotten stunning response all across the globe.
"I", which is directed by Shankar, has got largely positive response from the Tamil audience but it is getting mixed reviews from the Telugu audience.
