Superstar Mahesh Babu, who is basking in the success of "Srimanthudu", says he secludes himself in a room after his film flops, and does not talk much for 2-3 months.
Mahesh Babu may be superstar in real life, but he is very sensitive and ambitious. In an interview to Hyderabad Times, he spoke about his family members, competition in the industry and the importance of hits and flops in his life. He said the failure of a film affects him badly.
When asked about success, Mahesh Babu said it is very important for him. He would try his best to meet the expectations of his fans, who treat him like a god. "When you work on a film, it's very important that it does well for the sake of everybody who works on the film. I will be lying if I say flops don't affect me; they do. A lot of effort goes into a film," said Prince.
He said he is very disappointed when his films fail. He is so disappointed he does not even feel like eating or talking to anyone. He takes a long break from everything and tries to introspect and learn from his mistakes. But he does not blame anybody for the failure.
"I don't go out of the house and just go into a shell. I don't talk much and for 2-3 months. When you do a film, you don't think that it's not going to work. So it hits you very hard when it doesn't do well at all and it hits you even harder when they say it's a disaster. For 15 days, I feel so depressed I don't even want to get out of bed. I don't feel like eating or talking," said Mahesh.
"If you go for a family holiday, you are really not there. It's very disappointing and you can see it on my face and my body language. I introspect that time on the mistakes I made and what I should not make again. That's also the good thing about me. If a film does not do well, I take the blame," he added.
Mahesh Babu admitted to being competitive, but says it means something different to him. "(I'm) very competitive, but I also understand we all have our own space, be it Charan, Prabhas or me," said Prince, adding "But competitiveness is in the sense that I like to compete with the films I do. So if 'Srimanthudu' was like this, my next film has to be even better. But I don't want to compete with other stars."
