An Indian who was arrested in November after he confessed to murdering his daughter's alleged rapist, has now disclosed gory details of the torture he inflicted on the accused.
The 36-year-old father said that he lured the alleged rapist for dinner, drugged him with sleeping pills and tortured him.
He described to Daily Mail how he repeatedly burned the 45-year-old man's genitals with hot tongs.
The alleged rapist, who was also the man's tenant, had sexually assaulted his 14-year-old daughter when she was alone at home and had threatened to kill her if she spoke to anyone about it.
However, when she started exhibiting signs of morning sickness, she revealed the incident to her father.
The man, although enraged, kept it within himself and wife, lest his daughter's reputation be harmed.
"Initially, I didn't want to kill him and asked him to quietly leave my home and life but he taunted me. I became very, very angry and lost my mind," the distressed father said.
After the alleged rapist was drugged, the man wrapped a towel around his neck, tied his hands and dragging him across the floor. He then heated the iron tongs at the gas stove and pressed it on the accused's genitals.
"He screamed so loudly so I put a part of the towel in his mouth to silence his noise," the man said. "I burnt his genitals a second time, his body twisted and I was so enraged that I did it a third time in succession. After some time he stopped breathing and collapsed on the ground."
The man, who is from the Khajuri Khas region of Delhi, said that he murdered the alleged rapist - who himself is a father of two married daughters - to avenge the cruelty the alleged rapist inflicted on his young daughter.
"He spoilt her childhood. She was not the same girl as she was… Even my little daughter stopped smiling and stopped eating properly or going out with her friends while he continued with his normal life and had no remorse… this man is the father of two married daughters - yet he dared to do this my young innocent daughter".
India has seen a steady rise in rape cases annually over the last few years.
Just last month, a private school attendant in Bengaluru was arrested for the alleged sexual assault on a three-year-old student twice within school's premises.
People charged with murder in India earn up to 25 years of imprisonment, but the Delhi father has no second thoughts about reporting himself to the authorities. "I could have run away and even destroyed the body but instead I went to police after three hours and told them about what I had done. He was a blot on society and a constant threat to women."
