Hyundai has already confirmed that it will launch special editions of its Xcent compact sedan and Grand i10 in India to celebrate its 20th anniversary in the country. Now, a fresh batch of spy shots of the Xcent special edition has emerged online, giving an early glimpse of the model.
From the images of Team BHP, the Xcent special edition looks like it has got majorly cosmetic upgrades, such as chrome-slat front grille, decals on the sides, a rear spoiler with an integrated stop light and chrome touch on the number plate of the model. To distinguish the new edition of the Xcent from the current model, the sedan also has the 20th Anniversary Special Edition badge at the rear. The side profile of the cars shows steel wheels and chrome door handles. Hyundai is expected to roll out the special edition only in the middle variant of the Xcent.
Inside the cabin, from the images, it looks like the Xcent special edition has got a Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system. Mechanically, the new edition is likely to be the same as the current model. The Xcent is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which can churn out 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque, and a 1.1-litre three-cylinder U2 diesel engine that can develop 69bhp of power and 180Nm of torque. The transmission is taken care of by a five-speed manual transmission, while there is also a four-speed automatic gearbox in petrol models.
The production of the Hyundai Xcent special edition is already underway and the model is expected to hit the market in the coming days. It is expected to be launched in limited numbers.
