Hyundai's upcoming Verna facelift spied testing yet again, this time outside the company's Chennai plant.
The folks at Gaadiwaadi snapped the new Verna along with Hyundai's upcoming Elite i20 cross. Unfortunately, in the latest spy shots too, the facelift has not shed any of its camouflage, carefully covering much of the car details from the eagle-eyed spy photographers.
Verna, which is known as Solaris in the international markets like Russia is likely to get changes at the front as well as at the rear. Although we do not know the detailed specification changes, the car is expected to get restyled front fascia with larger headlamps and new grille.
Inside, the new Verna facelift is likely to remain just as the same and at the back, the car is expected to house reworked bumper and LED tail lamps.
Under the hood, the India specific model of new Verna facelift is expected to come with the same 1.4-litre diesel and petrol engines and 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines, which power the current models. Talking about the transmission, a five-speed manual gearbox for petrol and a six-speed manual for diesel are likely to continue in the new facelift and we also hear that six-speed automatic transmission could make its way to the new Verna.
In India, the upcoming Verna facelift will take on the likes of Honda City, VW Vento, and Maruti Ciaz and we expect the car to get a price tag in the range of ₹7.30 lakh to ₹11.50 lakh.
Now talking about the new Elite i20 Cross, the new entrant in the India's fast growing crossover market is likely to reach the Indian market officially in 2015.
As far as the engine is concerned, the Elite cross is likely to get the current Elite i20's 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. The crossover is expected to get aluminium roof rails, new body claddings and different alloy wheels.
