Hyundai globally unveiled the sportier avatar of Elite i20, christened as i20 N Sport. The new car is the product of Hyundai's N Division, a new high performance sub-division dedicated to develop sporty versions of Hyundai's regular cars.
The i20 N-sport comes with an array of visual enhancements such as new 17-inch alloy rims and side skirts. The front and rear bumper has been tweaked with more muscular design in line with the side skirts.
The car sports a rear boot spoiler and a stainless steel free-flow CAT back exhaust system with a large exhaust tip. The N-badges can be seen over the front fender and at the rear hatchback door.
The main change lies under the hood. The 1.4-litre petrol engine sold in 98.6bhp and 133Nm tune in overseas market has been retuned to deliver 114bhp and 160Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
Additionally, the hot hatch form Hyundai will feature a stiffer spring setup and the brakes have been updated with a set of ventilated discs up front and solid discs in the rear. The car will also come with 4-channel ABS and an EBD system for safety.
There is no information on the possible sale of this hot hatch in India. i20 N Sport will be pitted against the soon-to-be-launched Fiat Punto Evo Abarth.
