South Korean auto-major Hyundai is reportedly getting ready to launch its new SUV Tucson in India at the end of October. A report of Oncars.in claims that the sources close to the development have confirmed that the Tucson SUV would make its market entry in the end of October.

Previous reports had said that the Tucson would come by September end. Hyundai has been testing the Tucson in India for quite a while now. The SUV, which is expected to be positioned between the Creta and the Santa Fe SUV in the Indian market, is expected to be priced between Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai had showcased the SUV at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. Expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that car churn out 180bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to six-speed manual transmission, the soon-to-be-launched Tucson is also likely to get petrol-powered model. However, nothing has been confirmed so far.

The latest generation of the SUV, which embodies Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy boasts signature hexagonal front grille flanked by LED headlamps. It is built on a new platform and is expected to feature electronic driving aids such as autonomous emergency braking system, lane keeping assist system, rear traffic cross alert, blind spot detection, speed limit information function and an active hood system.

The company is also expected to launch the Elantra facelift in India soon. Powering the Elantra in India are likely to be three engines — a 1.6-litre VGT CRDi diesel motor, a 1.6-litre GDi petrol engine and a 2.0-litre MPi petrol engine. It is expected to come with a price tag in the range of Rs. 13 lakh to Rs. 17 lakh.
