South Korean auto major Hyundai's Tucson was due for launch in the country on October 24 and the company recently said that due to unavoidable reasons the launch of the SUV has been rescheduled. However, Hyundai did not reveal the new launch date.
Now a report of OverDrive says that the launch of Hyundai Tucson is likely to happen in November. However, the report did not specify the exact launch date of the Tucson in India. The dealers of Hyundai have already started accepting the bookings for Tucson in India for a down payment of Rs 25,000.
Hyundai will position the Tucson between the Creta and Santa Fe in India. Based on Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy of Hyundai, Tucson gets signature hexagonal front grille flanked by LED headlamps. It is built on a new platform and is expected to feature electronic driving aids such as autonomous emergency braking system, lane keeping assist system, rear traffic cross alert, blind spot detection, speed limit information function and an active hood system
Under the bonnet of the upcoming SUV is likely to be a 2.0-litre diesel engine that can churn out 180bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to six-speed manual transmission. In terms of dimensions, the Hyundai Tucson measures 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,645mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,670mm.
The latest generation of the SUV features leather upholstery for the seats and leather wrapping for the instrument panel and steering wheel. The India-spec version is also expected to get Android Auto feature, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and six airbags.
The Hyundai Tucson will take on the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 in India and is expected to get a price tag starting at Rs 18 lakh.
