It appears like South Korean carmaker Hyundai's new Tucson SUV is off to a good start in the country. The Tucson SUV, which made its entry into the market on November 14, has reportedly raked in over 200 bookings in a short span of time.
A report of CarandBike says that 75 percent of the bookings for the Tucson are for the diesel models and nearly 55 percent bookings are for the top-end diesel model of the Tucson. The Tucson has been launched with an introductory price tag starting at Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, the Tucson is currently available only in 2WD (2 wheel drive) options. However, reports say that the company might bring the AWD (all wheel drive) version of the SUV to India in April 2017.
Available in five variants, the Tucson comes powered by 2.0 litre petrol and a 2.0 litre diesel. While the 2.0-litre CRDi engine, which can churn out 182bhp at 4,000rpm and 400Nm at 1,750-2,750rpm, petrol mill can generate 153bhp at 6,200rpm and a peak torque of 192Nm at 4,000rpm. The Tucson flaunts a signature hexagonal front grille flanked by LED headlamps, cheeky bumpers and wrap-around LED taillights. It features electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-start assist control (HAC), downhill brake control (DBC), and brake assist.
