Bookings for the upcoming SUV Hyundai Santa Fe have reportedly started in India, with an advance payment ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh, says a latest report.
A Business Standard report said that the Hyundai dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the new vehicle, which is expected to make its debut in the domestic market in the New Year. The report also confirmed that the company will commence the delivery of the new SUV in India by the end of February. However, Hyundai is yet to open the pre-booking window officially.
" You just book the vehicle today at ₹2 Lakh and the keys of first 2014 New Santa Fe would be handed over to you," CarDekho report stated.
Hyundai, for the first time, will locally assemble the Santa Fe at its Chennai plant, which will help the company to price its upcoming SUV competitively in the sub-continent market. The vehicle is expected to pack cosmetic changes. At present the specifications of the vehicles are not known.
Previous reports suggested that the new version of Santa Fe is likely to carry a price tag of ₹22 lakh for the entry-level two wheel drive diesel version with a manual transmission. Talking about the engine specifications, the Santa Fe is available in 2 liter turbo and a 2.2 liter CRDI motors .It is speculated that the new avatar would come with the same 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine under the hood, which can generate a power of 194bhp and a peak torque of 422Nm.The vehicle would compete with Toyota Fortuner.
