Hyundai Motor India on Monday announced a slight increase of 1.5 per cent in its total sales at 52,515 units in May 2015, as compared to 51,718 units in the corresponding month last year.
The domestic sales of Hyundai stood at 37,450 units last month as against 36,205 units in May 2014, recording a growth of 3.4 per cent. However, the exports of the company declined 2.9 per cent to 15,065 units in May as against 15,513 units in the same month last year.
Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing of HMIL, said, "In a market experiencing low growth with decreasing contribution of rural and diesel vehicles sales, Hyundai volumes grew to 37,450 units with fourth consecutive month of more than 10,000 units of highly successful and acceptable Elite & Active showcasing customers changing preference towards brands delivering high aspirational value at attainable price."
Meanwhile, Hyundai is gearing up to launch its compact SUV ix25 in India. Hyundai ix25 is likely to get 1.6-litre petrol and diesel mills with 5- and 6-speed manual transmission under the hood, and is expected to be priced between ₹8 lakh and ₹12 lakh.
